I am like a lighthouse. Standing solid and alone, while I warn, with flashing eyes, to stay away, don’t get too close, it could be dangerous being near me.
I am like a lighthouse. Everyone relies on me to help them find their way throughout storms and gales but then take my comforting light for granted when the weather turns calm and clear.
I am like a lighthouse. The howling winds can’t douse my light. The snow and ice can’t freeze my soul. The pounding surf can’t tumble me down.
Only old age and neglect and loneliness can make me crumble, bit by bit, until I crash into the waters, leaving nothing behind.
