Who Am I, Where Am I, etc.

I am in my 60s and I’ve been writing little bits here and there for a couple of decades. My personal writing blog has poems, essays, short stories, long stories, spoonerisms, and even haiku and limericks.

I have a beautiful and smart daughter, Tara,Β  and 3 wonderfully sweet young granddaughters, Ava, Evvie and Charlotte. Because of my heart attack in October of 2014, I began this blog to write down some of the oft-told tales of the humorous, and sometimes not so humorous, events that have happened to me throughout my life for my granddaughters.

But I’ve discovered that having this blog has also allowed me to meet, with great pleasure, some really intelligent and creative writers from around the world. That has been the best part of starting this blog!

I now live in beautiful Bay City, Michigan, USA, with my kitty-cat, Willow, but I was born in Flint, MI, spent 20 years living off/on in Flint and the remainder living in Flushing Township, all in Genesee County, until 2010.

I have 2 associate degrees in science and general studies from Mott Community College in Flint, with additional college credits from the University of Michigan-Flint and Baker College. Hopefully someday, I will be able to complete my goal of obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (life keeps getting in the way).

I enjoy literature, horse racing, the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings, The Olympics, astronomy, history (particularly Irish), politics, art, old movies, Downton Abbey, The Good Wife, Unit One, science, anything done by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, U2, The Doors, oh and so much more! I have always had very eclectic and prolific interests.

I hope you enjoy reading what I’ve enjoyed writing!

P.S. I also have a Commonplace Book blog atΒ  https://jeneanebehme.wordpress.com/ if you would like to browse through the many quotes written by others that I have collected for almost 50 years. I have also included some of my favorite artists and their art work and some musicians and their lyrics as well on my Commonplace Book blog.

A Commonplace Book is someone’s personal collection of quotes, witticisms, essays, even graffiti. Please check my commonplace book blog out as well because I am sure you will find something that will make you laugh or ponder. Thanks!

    1. That was taken on Thanksgiving 2012 here in my apartment complex in the 9th floor lounge that we reserved for our family dinner. After that Mom beat the pants off all of us playing Apples to Apples and we all laughed and laughed so hard at some of the quite risque answers my mom was coming up with! It was a grand time! πŸ˜€

    1. Oh neat! Glad to hear from another Michigander…or Michiganian…has anybody ever figured out what we should call ourselves lol? Traverse City is such a beautiful and vibrant place! But then I’m prejudiced: I think we have the most wonderful state and anywhere in it is a great place. Oh, yeah, you should check out my post about Michigan called “The Land of Hands.” Hopefully you will like it. Welcome, sweetie, thanks for finding me!

    1. Thank you so much for your compliment because you made my day! I’m not sure if I have a youthful spirit or if I’m just basically immature, giggle! But isn’t it funny about getting older that your body starts to fall apart but you haven’t really grown much older in your mind? Or maybe it’s just me, I’m not sure πŸ™‚
